The Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) Course is a DGS-approved, STCW 2010–compliant program designed to provide specialized, skill-based training in shipboard electrical and electronic systems. The course prepares candidates for employment as Electro-Technical Officers on merchant vessels. On successful completion, candidates are awarded a DGS-approved Course Completion Certificate, along with INDOSS and an Indian CDC.
Eligibility requires candidates to hold a four-year BE/B.Tech degree (including lateral entry) with a minimum of 50% marks in disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication/Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or equivalent, from an AICTE-approved or Government-accredited institution. Applicants must have secured 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard, or alternatively 50% marks in the degree examination where the medium of instruction was English.
The maximum age limit is 35 years at the time of course commencement, with age relaxations applicable for SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and women candidates as per government norms. A valid passport is mandatory. The sanctioned intake is 80 candidates per batch.
