The Advanced Diploma Nautical Science (Formerly HND) is an internationally structured maritime program conducted in two phases across India and the United Kingdom. The first year (Phase 1) comprises 45 weeks of academic training at the School of Maritime Studies, Vels University, Chennai, followed by another 45 weeks at the City of Glasgow College, UK. After completing the academic phases, candidates must undergo 15 months of sea service to become eligible for the Deck Officer of the Watch (OOW) Certificate of Competency examinations in the UK.
This program is designed to provide strong theoretical knowledge and practical training in navigation, seamanship, ship operations, maritime law, and safety procedures. The international exposure enhances global career opportunities in the Merchant Navy.
To be eligible, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The maximum age limit is 25 years at the time of course commencement. Candidates must meet DG Shipping medical standards, including minimum unaided vision of 6/6 in each eye and no color blindness. Before proceeding to the second year in the UK, students must qualify in the IELTS examination with a minimum score of 5.5. A valid passport is mandatory, and both boys and girls are eligible to apply.

a month agoLet me say in detail (this is 100% true) Advantages: *Good instructors. *Good food *Good atmosphere. *Higly Disciplined. *Good facilities. * Fair fees structure Disadvantages: *Less placement opportunities *Little interior location you have to travel about 4 kilometre from the main. *Play ground is comparatively small. MY SUGGESTION: THIS IS A GOOD COLLAGE TO JOIN.
