The B.Sc. Nautical Science course requires candidates to qualify the IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET), which is mandatory as per training guidelines issued by the Directorate General of Shipping. Applicants must be Indian nationals and should not be more than 21 years of age on the date of commencement of the course, with age relaxation of 5 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, 3 years for Non-Creamy Layer OBC candidates, and 2 years for female candidates. Academically, candidates must have passed HSC (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board (NIOS students are not eligible) with a minimum of 65% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). They must also secure at least 50% marks in English in either SSC or HSC. Additionally, the candidate’s IMU rank should be below 10,000.
Applicants are required to submit original School/College Leaving Certificates along with photocopies. Medical fitness is compulsory and must be certified by a doctor approved by the Directorate General of Shipping. An eyesight certificate confirming 6/6 vision in both eyes and no color blindness from a DG-approved doctor is also mandatory. Students who successfully clear IMU-CET can apply through the official IMU website for admission to the course.

3 weeks agoDNS for the 2026 batch is really bad. In the interview, they are asking very poor questions that are not related to shipping, and they are only asking for 2 minutes. They don’t understand that candidates are coming from far away places. Fleet and Anglo are much better than this or that is my review
