The Certificate Course in Maritime Catering is a specialized programme designed to train individuals for catering and hospitality roles onboard ships such as cargo vessels, cruise ships, and offshore platforms. The course combines professional culinary training with the specific requirements of the maritime environment, preparing students to handle food production, menu planning, service delivery, and hospitality management in confined and dynamic shipboard conditions. A strong emphasis is placed on maritime food safety and hygiene standards, including safe storage, sanitation, and prevention of foodborne illnesses, ensuring compliance with international regulations and maintaining crew health. With total fees of ₹2,45,000 (including tuition, boarding, lodging, and uniforms), the programme enhances employment opportunities in roles such as ship cook, steward, and catering staff, with scope for advancement to senior positions like head chef or catering supervisor. Eligibility requires a minimum of 40% marks in 10th standard with at least 40% in English, with specific provisions for diploma or degree holders, along with meeting age criteria (generally 17.5 to 25 years, with relaxations for reserved categories), medical fitness as per DG Shipping standards, and possession of a valid Indian passport.

in the last weekVery disappointing experience with TS Rahaman. Two days before my entrance exam, I emailed the institute to inform them that my old email account was blocked due to a technical issue and requested that all communication be sent to my new email address. Unfortunately, I received no response. On the day of the exam, the exam link was sent exactly at 11:00 AM, which was the scheduled exam time. This created a lot of unnecessary stress and confusion. I had been calling the institute since morning, but no one answered my calls before the exam. After 11:00 AM, one of the teachers finally answered, but the behavior was rude and unhelpful. As a student, I expected much better communication and support from such a reputed institute. The admission and examination process should be more organized, and students should be treated respectfully. I hope the institute improves its communication and student support system.

in the last weekVery bad experience, I visited there. No basic hospitality or gesture was seen in their behaviour (specially Mr Sibaram Sahu) for the guardian visiting the campus. The behaviour of Mr Sibaram sahu was very irritating and time wasting. For the entire day, they even didn’t ask for the water also. He himself was sitting in the AC room and got me waiting in the hot outer area for about 6/7 hours.
