The Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) program is designed for B.E./B.Tech graduates in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to serve as Marine Engineers on merchant vessels. The curriculum includes marine machinery, ship construction, safety protocols, and STCW training modules, ensuring compliance with international maritime standards. The program features a ship-in-campus facility for practical training, experienced faculty, and placement assistance with leading shipping companies. Graduates gain proficiency in marine engineering operations, an understanding of maritime safety and regulations, readiness for onboard responsibilities, and eligibility to appear for the MEO Class IV Certificate of Competency.
Eligibility requires a recognized B.E./B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate, and at least 50% marks in English in 10th, 12th, or degree examination. Degrees must be from AICTE-approved institutes, IITs, or university engineering colleges. Candidates holding a full-time BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering streams (e.g., Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics) or Naval Architecture streams (e.g., Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding) must have “Mechanical” or “Naval Architecture” as the core subject. Relaxation of 5% in English is granted to candidates native to Lakshadweep or Andaman & Nicobar Islands who belong to Scheduled Tribes and whose parents are also from these islands. Selected candidates may receive exemptions from certain subjects in MEO Class-IV and II examinations.
Required documents include a Certificate of Medical Fitness and a valid passport, which must be submitted during application or via the student profile. Candidates must be unmarried at the time of admission. a month agoThe college will be the start of my new journey thanks to great faculty with their expertise and knowledge in the maritime field. Shout out to Albert sir, Gloria miss, Ajith sir and the hod of efa who motivated us for the exit exams and our mentality to the subjects even though its a whole new territory for a lot of us in our batch. Gained a lot of practical knowledge too which was fun and a great learning curve. Thanks to all my batchmates too who made this experience a fun one. The food was great but lack the meat portion and so the 4star apart from that it was excellent experience all in all.
