The B.Sc. Nautical Science program is a three-year, six-semester residential course designed in line with NEP 2020, DG Shipping regulations, and International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards. The program prepares students for professional careers in the Merchant Navy by combining academic learning, practical training, and industry-focused skill development. With a sanctioned intake of 360 students, the course is taught by experienced Master Mariners and maritime professionals, ensuring strong mentorship, discipline, and global employability.

Eligibility requires passing 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as separate subjects, securing 60% aggregate in PCM and 50% in English (as per DGS norms). Relaxations apply for SC/ST candidates and select island-based Scheduled Tribes as per government rules. Admission is through IMU-CET, IIT-JEE, or approved state-level engineering entrance exams, with a minimum 40 percentile score, and at least 60% seats filled via IMU-CET.

Candidates must be below 25 years of age at course commencement, with applicable age relaxations. Passport and DG-approved medical fitness, including strict eyesight and colour vision standards, are mandatory. Both male and female candidates are eligible.
