This Marine Engineering programme provides comprehensive training in core subjects such as ship construction, marine propulsion, thermodynamics, and control engineering, preparing students for careers as Marine Engineers on merchant vessels. The curriculum is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping and aligned with the STCW Convention, ensuring international standards of training, certification, and watchkeeping are met. The course features state-of-the-art simulation labs, experienced industry faculty, on-campus workshops, and structured onboard training that leads to the Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate. Students develop proficiency in marine engineering systems, gain a strong understanding of maritime safety and regulations, and are prepared to take on onboard operational responsibilities.

Eligibility requires successful completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized board, with a minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM and 50% in English in either 10th or 12th standard. Admission is subject to obtaining a valid IMU-CET rank and meeting all DG Shipping medical standards. The age limit starts from 17 years, with upper limits varying by category and gender (up to 25–32 years depending on category). Candidates must possess good binocular vision, normal colour vision (Ishihara test), and meet the physical fitness standards prescribed under the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000. A valid passport and a Medical Fitness Certificate from a DG Shipping-approved doctor are mandatory for admission.
