The B.Tech (Marine Engineering) is a four-year residential undergraduate program focused on the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of ships and marine vessels. The course is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University (IMU) and approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. Upon successful completion of the program and six months of mandatory sea service, candidates become eligible for the Marine Engineering Officer – Class IV Certificate of Competency, awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.
Admission to the program requires candidates to qualify in the IMU-CET (Indian Maritime University – Common Entrance Test). Applicants must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized board, securing a minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM and at least 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard. IMUCET 2025 rank is mandatory for admission. A 5% relaxation in English marks is applicable for eligible Scheduled Tribe candidates from Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands as per norms.
The program is open to unmarried candidates and is conducted under the Engine Department. Applications for the 2026 batch will open soon.
