The Certificate Course in Maritime Catering (CCMC) at International Maritime Institute (IMI) is a 6-month certificate program designed for candidates who wish to build a career in shipboard catering and hospitality. It prepares students for roles in the Merchant Navy’s catering department, where quality food and hospitality are essential for crew welfare. The course offers strong career prospects in Shipping & Maritime, with job roles such as Chief Cook, Catering Officer, General Steward, Hotel Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
Eligibility requires minimum 10th pass (or 12th) with at least 40% marks and English as a subject. The gap between 10th and 12th should not exceed two years. Preferred qualifications include HSC, vocational catering courses (MCVC), or 12–24 months craft courses in catering. The age limit is 17.5 to 25 years.
Physical standards include minimum height 157 cm, BMI up to 25, no speech deformity, and medical fitness as per DG Shipping norms. Eyesight standards include acceptable unaided vision (6/18 in each eye or 6/12 & 6/24 combination) and normal color vision (Ishihara test).
Admission involves registration, written entrance test, personal interview, and medical examination by a DG Shipping–approved doctor.

Impressive infrastructure and even a training ship right on campus for hands on training experience. Knowledgeable faculty members with strong industry experience. Good food and well maintained hostel facilities.
