A Place That Changed My Life : IMS Goa Ever since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to machines. It started with bicycles. fixing, adjusting, and understanding how they worked. Then came motorcycles, and eventually cars. I’ve always had this connection with engines, the sound, the movement, the logic behind it all. But as the world began shifting from mechanical to electric, it sometimes felt like that raw, hands on world I loved was slowly disappearing. I studied Mechanical Engineering, hoping to get closer to that passion. but honestly, most of it was just theory, exams, and lectures. I learned concepts, but not how to bring them to life. Then came Institute of Maritime Studies, Goa and that’s where everything changed. That one year at IMS gave me more than I got from all my previous years of engineering. It wasn’t just about books, it was about learning through doing. Every day there was something new to understand, something to fix, something to learn by touch and feel. IMS didn’t just teach me marine engineering. it taught me discipline, confidence, and the true meaning of being an engineer. It gave me the courage to step onto a ship and face real machinery and real challenges. Today, as I sail on my first vessel as a Junior Engineer, I realize how perfectly IMS prepared me for this life. Every bit of training, every workshop session, every moment spent there,, it all makes sense now. Even from the middle of the ocean, I wanted to take time to say this, because IMS Goa truly changed my life. It’s not just an institute; it’s a place that transforms your passion into purpose. Yeah, the Mess management little bit needs attention except that everything was great at IMS. Thank you, IMS Goa, for giving me the skills, strength, and confidence to live my dream.
